Bloom Bigger Better Beauty -
Duck River Ranch is a small, family-owned farm nestled in the heart of Tennessee, dedicated to growing living baskets, potted plants, and wreaths that are bigger, healthier, and more beautiful than what you’ll find at big box stores and we sell — FOR LESS.
Rooted in Tennessee soil and family values, we believe plants should be grown with time, care, and attention — not rushed through a warehouse system. Every basket and container we create is nurtured from start to finish right here on our farm. We focus on strong root systems, full growth, and vibrant blooms so that when you take one home, it’s already thriving — not just surviving.
We started Duck River Ranch with a simple idea: local families deserve better plants at better prices. By keeping things small and hands-on, we’re able to focus on quality over quantity and deliver real value directly to our customers.
This isn’t mass production, it’s personal. We grow them bigger. We grow them better. We grow them for you.

It depends on the variety. We clearly label each basket as:
Full Sun (6+ hours daily)
Part Sun (3–6 hours)
Shade (morning light or filtered light)
Putting the right plant in the right location makes all the difference.

In peak Tennessee heat (June–August), most baskets need watering daily — sometimes twice on very hot days. In spring and fall, every 1–2 days is typical. The best rule: water thoroughly until it drains from the bottom.
-
Yes. To keep blooms coming strong all season, we recommend feeding once per week with a liquid bloom fertilizer. Our plants are grown to perform — feeding helps them stay Bigger, Better, and more Beautiful all summer.
-
Absolutely. Light trimming every few weeks encourages fuller growth and prevents legginess. Removing spent blooms helps the plant focus on producing new flowers.
-
The earlier in the season you buy, the longer you’ll enjoy them. However, we grow in waves, so fresh inventory is available throughout the season.
-
Most of our baskets are annuals and will not survive freezing temperatures. When frost hits, their season is complete — but they will have delivered months of color before then.
